Thermosett powder coating uses thermoset resin as film-forming material, adding curing agent for cross-linking reaction, and form an insoluble and infusible hard coating after heating. Since the resin used in the thermoset powder coating is a prepolymer with a lower degree of polymerization, the molecular weight is lower, the leveling of the coating is better, and it has better decoration, and the low molecular weight prepolymer can be cured after curing. The macromolecules form network cross-linked, so the coating has better corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
Thermoset powder coating can be divided into the following categories:
1.Thermoset polyester powder coatings
2. Thermoset epoxy powder coatings
3. Thermoset polyurethane powder coatings
4. Thermoset epoxy polyester powder coating
1. Health and environmental protection.
All kinds of liquid chemical harmful additives added to achieve coating performance, such as film-forming, dispersing, wetting, leveling, anti-corrosion and mildew-proof additives, are omitted.
2. Convenient transportation and storage
Ordinary paints contain about 20-50% water or solvent, while powder coatings contain neither water nor solvent, and are completely solid, which is convenient and safe to transport. In addition, coatings containing water or solvents can be transported and stored at low temperatures. At 0°C, it tends to freeze, and powder coatings do not have this problem.
3. Paint smell
Compared with the odor residue of general traditional paint, powder coating has almost no odor.
Curing conditions have certain limitations.
